Jim Henson's Labyrinth has been my favorite movie since I was a child. I have spent countless hours researching the puppetry techniques, the music, and especially the costumes. During the pandemic, I learned everything I could about Sarah's ballgown. This dress was a fun learning experience in creating volume and layering fabrics. It has a bubble hem, off the shoulder mutton leg sleeves with small pearl buttons along the cuff and center back closure, as well as fresh water pearl and lace appliques on the bust. The fabrication is blue taffeta with a bubble texture organza and lace overtop.
