Wedding Dress

Spring 2023

This wedding dress is made from china silk. It has an empire waist with a sheer pleated top with raw edges to invoke a sea shell. There are mother of pearl buttons all along the back and asymmetrical godets at the bottom to give a mermaid shape. 

My original inspiration was Venus, Aphrodite, Sapphic imagery, and the sea. I learned a lot about myself as an artist during this process, and expanded my capacity for patience.
